Baby B2 is halfway here already! Time is flying by. We spent today at the Pumpkin Patch and Griffin mud-puddle stomped! I can't wait for there to be two little Barci kids running around and getting dirty.
I'm not sure if this pregnancy is really much different from Griffin's. I'm already dealing with heartburn, feeling tired, etc. One thing that is different is that I have developed 2nd trimester 'nausea'. I put it in quotes because it's not upset stomach nausea like the 1st trimester- it's more of a gag-reflex nausea where I eat something, brush my teeth, or something along those lines and have to pause, breath, and fight the urge to vomit. No fun.
What is different this time around is my excitement level. I am so so so excited to have another baby that I'm actually enjoying pregnancy. All the discomforts and inconvenient side-effects just don't drag me down like they did with Griffin. I think it's because I know on a deeper experiential level what I "get" out of all this work. And it's SO worth it!
And, this time, I'm BIG much sooner. That seems to be pretty standard so I'm trying not to freak out. And I think Baby B2 might be pointing in- their kicks and movements seem to be more internal and harder for Daddy to feel. Although we can now see and feel from the outside, it's just not as much or as extreme as it was with Griffin. Feeling movement is definitely my favorite part of being pregnant.
We're having no luck coming up with names. Naming Griffin took 39 weeks and we never came up with a girl name. I imagine it will still be awhile before we have a small list.
Griffin isn't really interested in the belly/baby yet but I'm hoping as things progress he'll get to feel his sibling moving. I'm pretty sure he's too young to fully grasp what's going on but I hope he's excited to be a big brother!! I know I am excited for him to be a big brother and to watch him love on his baby....and have them grow into best friends.

Pumpkin Patch 2012
We made it to the pumpkin patch today! We weren't sure if we'd make it this year- we've been busy and the weather has left much to be desired. This afternoon was perfect! Cloudy but warm and MUDDY!
This is RIGHT after getting out of the car. First things first, make sure the mud is high quality!
Nev leading the way to the horses!
First HORSE ride!!
He did GREAT and all by himself!
He wasn't interested in the pumpkins at all- he kept pulling me back towards the mud!
"Off-a-camera" Griffin says while pulling me towards the mud.
Peek-a-boo
MUD!
MUD!
This kid is a lot like a large dog- he needs acreage and hours of outdoor time everyday. He had SO much fun running ALL over!
"Watch this!" He says running full steam ahead.
Things got even better, he found a good-sized rock to throw in the puddle!
SPLASH!
STOMP!
Can't leave any puddles un-stomped!
Here I come!
That is one DIRTY boy!
All boy??
Running!
Corn pit...the stinker throws too much too well.
It's blurry but you can still see how much fun he's having!
Blurry again- but see the size of that dimple? He was laughing so much!
He got me!
We buried Nev!
Uh, yeah. We need one of these. I'd totally give up my parking spot in the garage or our guest bedroom to be able to zip him inside something like this for hours at a time!
More running...around and around he went.
Back in the corn!
Playing fetch with the doggies!
Back to the pumpkins...I told you he's like a large dog that needs lots of room to run!
NOW he's interested in the pumpkins!
"So heavy!"
"I want this one."
"Help pease."
Headed for the car- they closed an hour ago! And he's back in the mud puddles.
Mom is one smart lady and brought a change of clothes.
Did I mention those were white socks this morning?
Did I mention those were white socks this morning?
Our porch now! The four on the ground are from today, the four on the log are from the co-op farm I help at.
Happy Fall!!

Train
Today we went to the Snoqualmie Train Depot to ride a train and celebrate Griffin's 2nd birthday! We brought along Pax; Grandpa Joe, Grandma Kathy, and cousin Makenna met us there. Even though it's two weeks before his birthday, it's the last weekend of regular runs until Spring so we decided to do it anyway. And we are SO glad we did! It was a mostly cloudy and COLD but dry day. Not crowded at all so the kids were able to roam, climb, bounce, and really enjoy the day. We had so, so, so much fun and can't wait to head back in the spring!
Griffin squealed, "Train TRACKS!"
All bundled up...it was COLD!
Our conductor? Or engineer? I'm not sure what you call them:)
So excited!
All three kids!
Cousins
Getting ready to roll!
Ryan and the boys.
Not sure what to think...we're moving now.
Grandma and the little lady.
Daddy and son.
Train crossing. And our whistle blower:)
So serious! Taking it all in.
It was not crowded and so nice to be able to spread out and enjoy!
Crossing the river.
We made it to North Bend...picking up more passengers!
Jumping on the seat:) Not sure if we're supposed to do that but they had SO much fun!
Pax and Griffin chasing each other around while the train was stopped. Do you think he's having fun yet?
Totally didn't care that he was in the middle of strangers. Just wanted to climb on the little ledge that was there.
Just chillin' like a villan!
So happy!
So much to see...
There was so much giggling! What a perfect day!
I LOVE that you can tell Griffin is smiling from the side:) Love his dimples!!
Crossing the river again, the view out the other side.
Sitting on Grandpa Joe's lap.
Even cousin Makenna had a blast!
At the Falls...they're doing some major construction!
The kids were amazed by the water and falls.
Our view from the end of the line.
More jumping! This is what happens when the train stops moving:)
WOW!! The train whistle really made him happy this time...not sure what was so special about this particular sounding.
Watching all the other old train cars as we pass.
This lip thing is new...what he does when he's thinking or being shy.
All done!
Time for LUNCH!
Did I mention it was SO COLD!
Playing inside a train engine.
Griffin's turn!
Standing on the front of the engine!
Notice how dirty Griff is? He found the mud puddles:)
We tried for a Christmas card photo...but the little guy was done!
Limp baby! Just try to hold onto me!
Walking on the tracks...giggling and squealing! So much fun!
Hey Griff! This way!
The kid LOVES to run!
The station/depot at Snoqualime.
What a fabulous day!
Our little puddle stomper headed home...in dry clean clothes.
Aren't the SO cute!!
I wish this one hadn't turned out blurry! You just tell they are having so much fun together.
And this is what happened when we dropped Pax off.
We miss living with Pax (and Jessica) too Pumpkin Pie.
That's better! Watching video from the day.
