20 months

We are thoroughly enjoying our summer break as a family and making up for all the lost time during the school year. I've taken SO many pictures so I broke "20 months" up into multiple posts! Read and see all about our trip to the zoo, when Griffin went to school with Mommy, Pax and Makenna's birthday parties, Father's Day, babysitting Makenna, Griffin's first Aquasox game, our Pax "Days" (day 1 and day 2), July 4th, stump removal and bike excitement, and a separate post about the Park- where we take Griffin to try and wear him out! So yes, that is 12 different posts for one month! But I'm not apologizing! You don't have to read them all- this is ultimately my way of baby booking so it's all about me:) But I do hope you enjoy!!

Griffin is talking so much now! I feel like I say that every month and I imagine I'll keep saying it for awhile but it is so fun and exciting to watch him pick up new words and phrases every day! He is still waiting on his final tooth to pop through- he's had the other three eye teeth for forever it feels like. He still doesn't sleep through the night but he has been easier to put down at night lately. Still hoping, praying, and nudging gently towards full nights sleep. He's SO SMART too! He can do his number, shapes, and color puzzles without any mistakes (when he wants to). Sometimes he puts the pieces in the wrong places, looks at you and smiles, and then says "nope"! He thoroughly enjoys using utensils now and it's a sure-fire way to get him to eat at least a couple bites. He loves Sesame Street and Thomas the Train and will bring you the remote and ask for "Treet" or "Omas. Train." He's even more focused on helping the adults...which sometimes makes things even harder to do but I love his desire to be helpful so I try not to squelch it.

June 7th:

Using a fork and loving it! In fact, he often steals mine!
Desperate for something to entertain him, I sprayed shaving cream in the tub!

  Seriously, Mom?!
And he's OUT! Finally!!

June 9th: We started our day off with a free trip to the zoo. But the fun didn't stop there!!
What? Indoor 4-wheeling?! That's how we roll!
This kid does nothing calmly or without movement...dancing and eating snacks!

PAJAMA FIGHT!!! We woke daddy up by throwing all of Griff's pajamas on him. And yes, that does mean mom had to put them all back in the drawer! But who cares when you're having this much fun!!

And of course you must eat dinner with silly faces!!

June 10th: Celebrating Grandpa Joe's birthday by shoving a cupcake in his face!!

And yes, that is a giant bruise on his forehead- he was running, tripped, and hit his head on our hardwoods:(

June 13th: Nothing special except another day and evening with our boy!
Watching himself on the video camera!
Listening to music- I'm pretty sure some dancing happened too:)

Now THAT is better! (Notice all the toys have been "moved" to make room for the DJ)

June 19th: This kid loves to be naked...and will even request "naked" time!

June 20th: Drumming with Daddy!

June 22nd: We had Pax with us today...and Griffin helped with dishes for the first time. Her really likes the bubbles from the dish soap!

Griffin calls them "tars"

June 25th: One of Griffin's favorite games is throwing his clothes over the stairs...this is usually an indicator that it's time to go to the park!

Corn on the cob for dinner!

June 26th: Mom and Dad had their teeth cleaned- we're always favorites at the dentist! Does that sound snotty? Sorry! We're proud of our cavity free teeth!
Griffin getting used to the dentist
 Now it's Daddy's turn...

but NOT ready for his own turn yet!

June 27th: We went to "The Farm" as a family and Grandma Susie met us there expecting to play with Griffin...
...but he was super grumpy and fell asleep almost as soon as grandma got there.
When we got home he kept sleeping and acted like this...
...I know I've mentioned how busy he is- so this was way outside our normal.
He ended up throwing up twice and running a 103+ fever...
Our little guy does not normally lay still for pictures...he was feeling rotten:(
BUT! By that night, the fever was gone and he wanted a snack!
Feeling much better and no more puking! YAY!

He even played some catch with Daddy before bedtime!

June 29th: We had Makenna over for just a little over an hour while Aunt Janae got a massage. Since we didn't want Makenna to get sick...we headed to McDonald's to play in the tubes (and eat french fries!).

Yes, that is my kid doing a shot of ketchup. He LOVES the stuff!

He was stepping on her blanket and it made her MAD! That was my indicator that it was time to go (him being a booger).

June 30th: Griffin has red bumps...wondering if it's chickenpox or hand-foot-mouth...so the day started with a bath. PLUS he got a new toy from Grandma Kathy...a BOAT!

Trying to get a picture of the bumps...

We bought Griff a helmet today...because we ordered a 2 wheel bike for him!!

He pulled his stool up to the coffee table and yelled, "SNACK!" Haha! Don't worry- I made him ask nicely!

July 1st: Trying out the new helmet on his 4-wheeler!
 He's already off-roading!

 and rolling!

No tears- just needed a kiss and he was back in the saddle!
and the street! (Don't worry, I was right there!)

He's not so good at the "coming back" part!
 Putting away his rocket ship...

 Look how strong he is!
Yeah...we knew this day was coming!

July 2nd: Some days require we get creative to keep the energizer bunny happy! These bouncy house balls were one of the best $20 on amazon ever!  And yes, the pictures are blurry. That's because the kid never stops moving!

Almost too tall to stand up there...definitely old enough to know that's not where his toys/balls go!

July 3rd: Griffin loves watching "corn" pop and asks for it all day and night. I try to limit it to just a couple of times a week! He will drag his stool over into the corner, point, and say "corn", "corn", "pease!", "pease?" (I usually cave in- it's just so darn cute!)

These however are marshmallows- my favorite addition to a bowl of buttery, salty popcorn!

June 6th: Our 20 month old!

If you made it this far- you deserve a medal! I hope you enjoy following along as Griff grows- what a precious gift from above!
