What a full and fun month. We celebrated Mother's Day (twice), went to "The Farm", hosted a garage sale, played HARD at the Bay View family fun night, and even visited a pediatric urologist at Children's Hospital.
We are trying yet another bed arrangement. We got a free toddler bed, so I'm trying to get him excited to sleep in his bed which is right next to mommy and daddy's bed. I'm hoping he will start napping in it first, maybe go to bed in it when Daddy occasionally puts him down. Maybe I'll get an evening summer job and that will become the routine that leads to full-nights in his own bed and weaning? One can dream, right?
Griffin keeps changing so fast!! Some words/phrases he says: turtle, duck, dog, kitty, bark, meow, grandma, grandpa, daddy, mommy, Bailey, go, down, there (in answer to "where does it hurt?"), owie, bed, football, basketball, baseball, truck, car, airplane, pretty girl, bear, lion, rooster and of course no, go away, no way, I don't want to. And my favorite, "milky", because it means he still wants to snuggle me!!
He is more creative and using his imagination more- he put his blanket over his basketball and said, "Night, night ball". He drives his cars around and flies his airplanes. He rides "bikes" now- he has a rocket-ship, a "4 wheeler", and a real trike and he likes to ride them all. He "helps" whenever he can. He "helped" me weed the backyard (mostly just threw dirt) and "helped" me carry his toddler bed up the stairs (had his hand on it and verbally "supervised" me). One of his favorite ways to "help" is to sweep. Who knew that one of Griffin's favorite activities would be "sweeping" the empty garage!!
We had to reschedule Griffin's 18 month appointment because of our Children's trip so he had his appointment today on his 19 month birthday. He is 33 inches tall and weighs a whopping 28.1 lbs. He got his two upper canine teeth this month and is working on the bottom ones...we're back to restless nights with lots of crying and thrashing about. He got his first ever diaper rash thanks to all the drool!
School is almost over for the summer. This little family is looking forward to sleeping in, playing all day long, and maybe even the occasional (read, frequent) family nap:)!!
